We stayed at the House On The Rock golf resort, with just enough time for a quick 9 holes before heading out

They had these cool Wrightian condos around the course

A major milestone: we cross the mighty Mississippi! (This is only half of it)

State Route 3, Iowa

This, for eight hours... beautiful, if a bit long (one section ran arrow-straight for sixty miles)

Those crazy Iowans and their silos

There must have been over a hundred of these giant windmills all in one spot

Nasty rainstorm just outside of Le Mars; we quit for the night and eat a yummy steak from a place in Road Food (see Oct 1)
