The Lake & Grounds The cottages look east toward Moose Pond, a long, narrow lake in southwestern Maine. The section that the cottages occupy is about a half mile wide and over three miles long, so there's plenty of room for sailing. ![]() The cottages face the lake across an unusually large, open lawn. There's plenty of room for badminton, croquet, horseshoes, bocce, and volleyballall at once! This photo shows about a quarter of the total lawn area. Just out of sight to the left is sturdy playground equipment, for the swingset set. (And take note: how many cottages come with their own lighthouse?) ![]() The dock is a perfect launching spot for swimming, boating, fishing... There's also a small sandy beach on the propertygreat for wading, and sailboats or canoes can run right to the shore. ![]() The boathouse is one of Moose Trail's unique amenities. Cantilevered over the water, the deck's wraparound views make it a favorite hangout long into the night. Inside, it's one big open area with a fireplace, sofas, and ping-pong tablefun even on a rainy day. |
